Murray. He joins a gang of thieves hoping to score enough money to retire, but the gang turns on him and he must defend his life which causes much attention to him as a talented gunfighter.
Word soon reaches Veronica in Gingerville, where she has taken a teaching post, and she finds she is very concerned for the stranger, even
goes out of her way to warn him he's a suspect in the bank robbery. Even though things are a bit difficult, they quickly fall in love. It is obvious
to the female population that she has something in her past, yet Caine doesn't question the integrity of the woman she seems to be, so Veronica keeps the details of her own outlaw days to herself, until he asks her to marry him then her dilemma begins.
Mark Williams is a train robber by profession with wealthy family connections. He and his cousin Gerald were reared by their white paternal English grandmother, who purposely raised them differently. Gerald is the educated businessman while Mark was allowed to live the outlaw life of his father. Mark returned to Montana a sick man,
due to exposure and excessive booze. He mistakenly assumes Caine is after the younger woman he has decided to court. Even though, he knows his reflexes are shot and his mind is cloudy, he tracks Caine, stopping in Gingerville to rest. He encounters the young blond Brad Bannon, a member of the gang that double crossed Caine. Talking to Brad, Mark realizes most of his anger at Caine was mostly booze induced. Brad also meets Janis, best friend to Veronica and also the woman Mark’s cousin is courting.
Both Veronica and Janis's lives are threatened and the three outlaws who have come to care about them are forced to work together and reluctantly reflect on the choices they’ve made for themselves as men.

This was my first read by the author and it was very good. I remember watching westerns as a kid and just like that I was submerged back in time. Welcome to Gingerville. Veronica is a young school marm, headed to find a new life. On the train she meets the tall, handsome stranger, we know as Caine. Their lives once off the train become intertwined like two threads from the same spool of yarn. They are more alike than they realize. The neighboring town and it's occupants aren't happy about some of the new visitors to Gingerville. Although this book is predominantly AA, the author has a mix of characters and backgrounds. The lives of each just jump off the page and scream, here I am. Like it or not!! The twists and turns leave you turning the pages, while holding your breath just a little. I am looking forward to reading more of the sexy Caine and feisty Veronica and all the gang in Gingerville. 5 Stars.Product details

I liked this story, found it very entertaining. I've read historical romances before so the setting and dialog was nothing new to me ( though the way dude was used threw me a bit). It was wild and exciting just like you'd expect it to be during that time period. The characters were fun to meet, even the horrible ones. I especially loved Caine, Mark, Veronica, Brad and Janis. They were a mixup of backgrounds, all with their own sorted pasts but in the end all wanting one thing, love and happiness. This was fun, light on the romance (still Caine was sexy as all get out) and full of action and excitement. I'll definitely check out the next installment in the series.
I loved this story. Never thought in my wildest dreams I'd enjoy this type of book but to my surprise I enjoyed every bit of it. I was drawn in by the description of the scenes in this novel. My favorite characters are Caine, Veronica and Janis. Veronica was smart, intelligent, sassy and strong willed, far from a damsel in distress. She could hold her own even Janis. I would definately suggest this book. It's different but really good.
This is the first western I've ever read in my life and I have to say I truly loved reading this novel. What pulled me in is after seeing the author post a link in a Facebook group, I checked out the synopsis and was hooked after only reading the first few pages. I fell totally in love with the main character, Cain the mysterious outlaw. I loved his rough and tough demeanor but what I really enjoyed was the way he courted Veronica another mysterious woman with a hidden past. The ending was kind of predictable as most westerns (the ones I've seen on TV) tend to be, but I can honestly say the author did a wonderful job putting her spin on it. I wanted more and hopefully Sandra Hall has a part two in the makings. Good job to Ms. Hall for taking me on this journey through the mid western days where black cowboys and outlaws settled in their own land. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Although, I like Western movies, I had never read a Western novel before. The cover and synopsis intrigued me enough to make me want to buy the book to find out more about the man on the cover, who I'm guessing is none other than Caine Fuller! The book is chalk full of interesting characters. My favorite, was Caine. He was the fastest draw in the west! And the women in the story certainly knew how to handle themselves, especially Veronica Murray, Caine's love interest. I like the way Ms. Hall unveils little hints about the characters' past; that way it kept the story interesting and the pacing even. I would definitely recommend this book! I'm looking forward to reading the follow-up to this story. Good work, Sandra Hall.
