This book was an entirely different read for me mixing everything from romance, childhood scars, haunting dreams, music, madness, confusion, drug abuse and love atlast... Very much focused on adults especially teens. Hazel has brought out a very different story of the media industry. Those celebrities are human too and have their own internal troubles and addictions, coping with the stress for survival of the fittest in the wide media industry. Fame do come with a price and to reach that, the ladder is not really a paved up pathway but one with bumps, holes, bloodshed and addictions. Hazel is the standing proof who has acknowledged the struggle in the industry. Hazel you really deserve appreciation..The book had the grip on me the whole time i would accept it completely. And really i loved Bran sooo much would be an understatement. I loved him not for his alpha male features or music but purely for his innocence, the real innocent child that didn't know how to live and love life. Ava is no less since she struggles horrendously to keep up with the wave and holds the shipwreck in place at the perfect time. You will know the meaning when you read the book. The unrealized feeling called Love was a real pain in the ass, wrecking havoc in lives and the lovely aftermath of realization was like pure honey from the comb or feeling nature at its purest form.
All the Silva guys were awesome with their group effort and friendship not giving up once on their guys even with their spoiled ways and taking care of each others' backs. The fun and craziness they portrayed made me laugh a real lot. On the whole I loved the book, loved Bran and Ava and the Silva guys.
I received a advanced reader copy of this book for review, thanks to StoryCartel and Hazel for their generosity.

Siren Wave A Rock and Roll Love Story Indie Rock Star Book 1 edition by JA Hazel Arts Photography eBooks Reviews
This rock romance "Sirens Wave" is a soulful, enriching story like lots of wholesome food, music and witty, poetic scores quintessentially Melbourne. An experience for anyone who is familiar or interested in the café culture, music and club scenes. I was like "Oh I love that place", and "oh yes its just like that". The author J. A Hazel has captured so much of the discourse, right down to the subtle and sometimes in your face conversations and humour, swearing and slang that this part of the world is so famous for contrasting with outpourings of delicate and less popularised vulnerable moments of poetry dream and landscapes. It’s a story of the beginning of a relationship, the awkward moments, and the forces of nature despite all odds and misunderstandings between Ava who is a retro and intellectual, mermaid nymph like young woman put to the test when she meets Bran. Bran who really is young, magnetic and foolish as Parsifal the knight was when he first began his journey. The lovers are the sirens to one another and the siren is that not yet differentiated pull and force that is raw, vital and often overwhelming potential that pulls one to the core. I highly recommend the read to anyone who is ready for a journey and look forward to more writing from J. A Hazel <3
The Siren’s Wave hits you exactly like a wave does, and carries you into the hypocenter of life-changing events. It drags everyone involved into the whirlpool, where there is no way out, no chance to get your head up and catch a breath. The energy of this book is so strong, you can’t fight it, and for a few days you let it push your own life aside.
Like a wave, it jumps high to scratch the surface of the ecstasy, only to dive into the darkest depth, and reveal the echoes of the past, that never really go away.
Love itself isn’t destructive, but overthinking it, letting your pride and fears get involved - that’s what can ruin things. This is what both Ava and Bran get to learn.
Brilliantly written, educational, and well developed “Siren’s Wave” gets personal with you, taking you for a wild ride of emotions, jokes, stories, and the love that does not kill, but heals.
For me this was a dive into the world that I love, the world of music and creative process, where the characters feel the sound itself on a different level. “Siren’s Wave” left me in this poetic euphoria.
And all that’s missing is the album - the reason adn the result of it all.
There is so much more I’d like to say, but the best way to feel how I feel now is to just read the story. “Siren’s Wave” turned out to be the book I’ve been waiting for - the true well-written smart romance.
'Siren's Wave' is a deliciously addictive read that builds in narrative tension and firecracker romance ...pretty much like a wave that gathers, curls inwardly, rolls and then crashes to the shore. The wave metaphor resounds in so many myriad ways it's hard to pin it down, as does the mythical 'siren', and the emotional shipwreck that is always looming.
The chemistry between the main characters, Ava and Bran, sizzles and spins, rising and falling in at times fabulously infuriating ways! You just so want things to work out... If only they could see clearly how they feel about each other, because you grow to like them so much, and long for them both to find happiness and love.
As I read this novel, which I couldn't put down, I would shock those around me with alternating sounds of dismay, shock, and delight. It takes you back to bygone days of the 'rose coloured glow glasses' of love, and fragile romance. It's just delicious; entertaining, but also with a depth of searing pain that tugs at the heart strings and intones a rich and beautiful melody. The 'insider scoop' on the music industry world is interesting as a backdrop to the narrative...there is a fair bit of typical language represented, with a generous amount of swearing... but that does seem to position the text appropriately in the world in which it is set...and we are warned.
I loved the references to 'the best' places in Melbourne, and the rugged striking beauty of the coastline along the Great Ocean Road. It was such a satisfying read, I can't wait for the next instalment!
